Dr Eileen Tan-Gore is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with post-Fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgery and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Surgery. She is committed to providing comprehensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services to the Hunter Region in all aspects of the specialty, including the management of head and neck cancer and reconstructive surgery, facial trauma, salivary gland pathology, dentoalveolar pathology including surgical removal of wisdom teeth, oral pathology, skin cancer, TMJ dysfunction, implantology and cosmetic treatments.
Dr Tan-Gore holds a Consultant position at the John Hunter Hospital, a tertiary-referral centre in Newcastle, NSW, where she is also the Supervisor of Training for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Training Program. She operates at several private hospitals in the Hunter Region.
She is part of Konara Cancer Care, a team of practitioners including Surgeons, Oncologists, Allied Health and Nursing Practitioners who work together to provide a comprehensive approach to Head and Neck Cancer patient care. She firmly believes that patients and their families should be actively engaged as part of this team during treatment.
Dr Tan-Gore completed a Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney. During her Fellowship she developed an interest in the reconstructive management of Head and Neck Cancer and is trained in microvascular reconstructive surgery.
Dr Tan-Gore graduated with an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and a BDSc (Bachelor of Dental Science) from the University of Queensland. She completed surgical training in the Northern Territory, Queensland and New Zealand before attaining her Fellowship with the RACDS (OMS).
