Lake Macquarie Private Hospital has been proudly serving the local community since 1973.

In response to community demand for more local health care services, Ramsay Health Care has spent five years working towards an exciting redevelopment to expand the services we offer the communities of the Hunter Region.

On completion, the improved hospital will offer 248 private inpatient beds, 14 operating Theatres, 3 Cardiac Catheter Labs plus Hybrid and Vascular labs, Critical Care, Intensive Care and an enhanced 24 hr Emergency Department, as well as on site Radiology and Oncology services.

Even before the new facilities open, over 1000 jobs will be created during construction. Once complete, the Lake Macquarie Private Hospital development will create 169 new health care worker roles and attract 20 new medical specialists, making the hospital the largest employer in the region.

The development works will occur in stages to ensure minimal disruption for patients, with completion of the upgraded Lake Macquarie Private Hospital due in 2027. The development is focussed on careful expansion and we look forward to growing with the community.
