Dr Adeeb Majid is a specialist upper gastrointestinal surgeon; having completed his general surgical training (FRACS) at John Hunter Hospital Newcastle and he did 3 years of specialist Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Training in Sydney and Adelaide.
Dr Majid has gained experience in pancreatic surgery at Heidelberg (Germany) and in Liver surgery at Seoul. He is a Fellow of Australia and New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary association (ANZHPBA).
Dr Majid has been practicing in Newcastle since 2013 and he is a high volume pancreatic and liver surgeon covering Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast region.
Dr Majid performs surgery for Pancreatic cancer, Liver cancer (primary and secondary) and Gastric cancer, his other interests include Laparoscopic (key hole) surgery for large hiatus hernia and reflux disease, gallbladder and hernias.
In addition he performs surgery for advanced melanoma and is attached to the Newcastle Melanoma unit. He is accredited with the Gastroenterological society of Australia (GESA) for performing gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Dr Majid has held an appointment as senior lecturer in Surgery with Newcastle University and Conjoint lecturer with University of NSW.
He operates at John Hunter, Calvary Mater and at a number of private hospitals in Newcastle.
