ACCOMMODATION

Lake Macquarie Private Hospital offers a high standard of accommodation with both 2-bed shared and private rooms. All rooms have ensuite facilities.

Private rooms cannot be guaranteed due to availability.

You may initially be admitted through our Admissions Centre from where you will proceed to the Ward or direct to the operating theatre.

Depending on your reason for hospitalisation you may need the specialist care of our Intensive Care Unit or Coronary Care Unit where you can be closely monitored by nursing staff.

Coronary Care Unit - 8 monitored beds
Case-mix - Diagnsotic and Interventional Cardiac Procedures Chest pain and other related cardiac conditions.

For your comfort and convenience

Meals
Our catering department prepares a variety of top quality, fresh meals. Menus will be provided each day for you to select meals according to your taste and dietary requirements.

Newspapers
Each patient receives a complimentary daily newspaper

Telephones
Individual telephones are available at each bedside. Local calls are free by dialiing ‘0’ prior to the number you are calling. Prepaid phone cards may be purchased at Reception for STD calls.

Mobile telephones are not to be used in patient care areas due to interference with medical equipment.

Public phones are located outside the Intensive Care Unit and in the main Foyer.

Television
Bedside television sets are provided free of charge offering free to air and satellite TV.

Smoke Free Environment
We ask our patients and visitors to respect our smoke free policy while within the hospital complex.

Services for Patients

Discharge Planning
This process, with your involvement, commences on admission for all patients but our Discharge Planner is available for complex cases.

Dietetics
Dietary advice is available onsite from our highly quali?ed and experienced dietitians.

Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy treatments are administered by our team of skilled onsite physiotherapists who treat patients before and after surgery.

Pathology
Pathology services are available onsite seven days a week. Pathology services include: Haematology, Coagulation Studies, Blood Bank, Biochemistry, Blood Gases, Microbiology and Histology.

Imaging
Imaging services are available on site and in the specialist medical centre that is linked to the hospital via a clinical services walkway.

In order to provide you with the health care services that you require, we need to collect and use your personal health information. If you provide incomplete or inaccurate information to us or withhold personal health information from us we may not be able to provide you with the services you are needing.

IF A PROBLEM ARISES

While we aim to deliver the highest possible standard of care, we do realise that there may be times when you are unhappy with a particular aspect of the service we provide. We would like to hear about it.

In most instances your Doctor or Nursing Unit Manager will be able to assist you, so tell them about your problem first.

Should this be unsatisfactory, you should request to see either the Director of Nursing or the Chief Executive Officer. They will investigate your complaint and advise you of your options for further actions should you still be dissatisfied.
