New psychology service coming to The Hunter

Ramsay Health Care is strengthening its commitment to mental health services with the planned launch of a dedicated psychology service in The Hunter.

‘Ramsay Psychology’ will open in Charlestown towards the end of 2020 following the launch of Ramsay Health Care’s first community-based psychology practice in Sydney earlier this year.

The Charlestown practice will be a unique haven for patients seeking psychology services and support with a broad range of experienced psychologists under the one roof.

Ramsay Psychology will complement the existing inpatient facilities and day programs currently available at Warners Bay Private Hospital and Lakeside Clinic, to provide an even broader service for individuals looking for mental health care.

“People know and trust the Ramsay brand because we’ve been in the business of mental health care since 1964 so, by launching Ramsay Psychology, our clients know they’re getting access to the best care,” said David McGrath, Mental Health Service Line Director for Ramsay Health Care.

Clients will be able to access the service privately or with a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP and sessions will be offered face-to-face or via video conferencing technology to suit the client’s lifestyle.

“We want to use our expertise and the strong Ramsay reputation to expand our services into the community ensuring people have increased access to psychology services at a time when they are needing it,” Mr McGrath said.
